QPC - Main Bldg
A contemporary tropical residential project designed to balance modern architectural character, natural ventilation, privacy, and indoor–outdoor living. The residence features expansive roof overhangs, warm timber accents, decorative breeze blocks, vertical sun screens, generous glazing, balconies, landscaped open spaces, and a pool area. The overall composition responds to a warm climate while creating a distinctive and welcoming residential environment.
Scope of work
Abante Builders Inc. developed the architectural design and exterior character of the residence, with emphasis on space planning, façade development, material selection, passive shading, ventilation, and integration of outdoor amenities. The design incorporates covered terraces, balconies, external circulation, landscaped areas, a swimming pool, architectural screens, and coordinated façade elements to create a cohesive residential concept.
Client requirement
The client envisioned a modern, functional, and visually distinctive home that would remain comfortable in a tropical environment. Key priorities included generous natural light and ventilation, privacy without making the residence feel enclosed, strong connections between indoor and outdoor spaces, and architectural details that introduce warmth and character to the contemporary design.
Site or construction challenge
One of the key design challenges was balancing large openings and open living areas with solar protection, privacy, weather exposure, and structural practicality. The extensive roof projections, upper-level balconies, façade screens, decorative breeze blocks, and varying open and enclosed spaces also required careful coordination to maintain a clean architectural expression while ensuring that each element served a functional purpose.
Abante's solution
Abante approached the project through a combination of passive tropical design strategies and contemporary detailing. Deep roof overhangs help protect façades and openings from direct sunlight and rain, while vertical screens and breeze blocks provide additional shading, privacy, and visual texture without sacrificing airflow. Large glazed openings strengthen the connection between interior and exterior spaces, while timber-toned architectural elements soften the predominantly neutral palette. The result is a residence that combines climate-responsive design, functional planning, and a strong contemporary identity, creating a home that is visually refined while remaining practical for everyday tropical living.
