Mendero - (Moroccan-inspired design)
A Moroccan-inspired private villa that combines traditional Mediterranean and Moorish architectural elements with modern resort-style comfort. The design features warm terracotta-colored walls, distinctive arched openings, intricate wooden doors, decorative lanterns, and vibrant turquoise pool tiles. Complemented by a private courtyard pool and a covered alfresco dining area, the villa creates an intimate and inviting retreat that captures the elegance and charm of Moroccan architecture.
Scope of work
The proposed project scope includes architectural design, space planning, facade development, material and finish selection, swimming pool design, courtyard planning, alfresco dining integration, and landscape coordination. Special attention is given to decorative architectural details, coordinated finishes, and the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Client requirement
The design concept focuses on creating a private, visually distinctive, and relaxing villa experience inspired by traditional Moroccan architecture. Key requirements include a recognizable Moroccan-style facade, comfortable interior spaces, a private swimming pool, and an outdoor dining area for leisure and entertainment. The overall design prioritizes privacy, comfort, cultural character, and a welcoming resort-like atmosphere.
Site or construction challenge
The primary design challenge is incorporating intricate Moroccan architectural details into a compact and functional villa layout. Elements such as curved archways, ornamental wooden doors, decorative wall accents, and patterned tile finishes require careful detailing and coordination. Integrating the swimming pool within the courtyard also requires consideration of waterproofing, drainage, circulation, and moisture-resistant materials while maintaining a consistent architectural theme.
Abante's solution
Abante Builders Inc. developed a Moroccan-inspired architectural concept that balances traditional design character with contemporary construction techniques and functional planning. The exterior features warm earth-toned walls, prominent Moorish-style arches, decorative diamond-shaped accents, and black-framed arched windows. Intricately patterned wooden entrance doors and traditional lantern-style lighting further reinforce the villa's distinctive Moroccan identity. At the heart of the development, a private courtyard swimming pool features turquoise mosaic tiles and a decorative Moroccan-inspired water feature. The surrounding patterned floor tiles and arched glass openings create a cohesive outdoor environment while establishing a strong visual connection between the villa and its courtyard. A covered alfresco dining area with a tropical-inspired roof provides a comfortable setting for outdoor gatherings and relaxation. Complementary landscaping and thoughtfully arranged outdoor spaces enhance the villa's privacy and resort-like atmosphere.
